- What should I do to visit the Marine Animal Recovery Center?

- When can I visit the CRAM?
Every weekday, except holidays, in the morning and afternoon. Remember that advanced booking is essential!
- Can we visit the CRAM freely?
No. Visits at the Recovery Center are always guided and all groups must be accompanied by CRAM staff.
-Is there a minimum and maximum number of people per group?
Yes, both for individuals and for school groups, groups should be of a maximum of 25-30 people. Visits for individuals are conducted whenever the group comes to a minimum of 8 adults.
- Are visits suitable for all ages?
Yes, the visits are aimed at people of all ages and suitable for all school levels.
- Are visits for individuals suitable for children?
Visits for individuals are directed to adult audiences and may be somehow inappropriate for children. Therefore, children between 1 and 5 years are free on entry and there is a special rate for children between 5 and 12 years.
- Is it possible to have a guided visit for individuals but adapted to children?
Yes, if specifically requested by the group. If there are different families in the same group, then the whole group will have to agree. In any case, it can always be sorted out at the time of booking or starting the visit.
-Are there any educatinal materials for schools?
You can check the "educational materials" at CRAM’s website or ask CRAM staff at the time of your booking.
- Are visits cancelled if it rains?
Since most of the visit takes place outdoors, in case it rains CRAM staff will contact the group to decide whether the activity is cancelled or not.
- How many animals will I see at the Recovery Center?
It depends on the season. The Recovery Center is a hospital for marine animals and we can not predict which animals will come to the center and how many of them will be able to be observed at the time of the visit. Still, the most common, and almost always present in our facilities is the loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta).
- Can I touch the animals?
Absolutely not. Species that are recovering in our Recovery Center are wild and interaction with them should be minimal for proper reintroduction. Moreover, their could bite or cause disease contagion.
- Can I leave the tour before its completion?
Unless an emergency occurs, visitants should not leave the group for security reasons and to avoid inconvenience to the rest of the group or other groups visiting the Center.
- Are there places nearby where we can eat or spend the day?
A few meters from the CRAM facilities you can find public parks, a soccer field, steps to the beach, a picnic area on the promenade and various restaurants and bars.
